christmas wishes from our family2u

lauren, jayden and i would like to wish everyone a merry merry christmas from philly
Jayden Christmas Greeting

surely you’ve got what you wanted for christmas.
as for me, the holidays are just one long marathon. i’ve hit the wall.
can’t wait to just sit still and rub my belly or maybe jayden’s.

i shared a message with some of the kids in our community through an SAT program this past week and expressed my dislike for christmastime. i really don’t like it, even the gift giving. minus the value of the gift, often we’re merely just exchanging material or we give out of obligation. we “exchange” gifts.
by definition, a gift cannot be exchanged. it’s freely given with no strings attached. how often do you experience the generosity? the good will? the sacrifice of the christmas spirit?
when it comes to gift-giving we’ve tried to give generously and graciously and it’s oh so very difficult. there’s so much involved for me. many times it takes knowing what someone really needs, or what they really want. i want to give in order to make their life better. i truly wish to just give and for the receivers to simply know that i love them. this takes a lot of work and effort. end jabber.
anyways, we hope that this has been a great time of generosity and good will for you.

peace on christmas

hope everyone had a fulfilling xmas time celebrating, reflecting, loving and embracing the precious gift of one another.

precious moments recalling the day

7am : first waking thoughts from the wife, “…ugh! gotta get to work. oh wait, it’s xmas. *sigh* …ugh! gotta get to new york…doh! :silly:

8am : the temperature is pleasant. sunrays breaking through the morning and touch my face. packing the car with gifts. heading on our way to ny to have a xmas brunch with my family. furry woodland creatures scurrying across the roads at each turn.
no cars on rt 1. no cars ahead of me. clear open road all the way home.
no stores open. there’s something wonderful and peaceful about stores being closed. i imagined and hoped those who worked in those stores were enjoying their time off waking up late to those that loved them. it was a refreshing sight. no more hustling for work or shopping for gifts. the day has come. peace on rt 1.

8:38 : we arrive in chinatown. barely any cars around. there’s parking on every street. *sigh* it’s oh so quiet. peace in chinatown.

9am : home at my mom’s. home. just peace.

on opening presents this year…i was a kid again…completely blessed.
really, all i truly wanted for xmas this year was my wife. she is a gift. it’s incredibly warming to see people light up and their spirits lifted when they receive a great gift. moreso when they shed tears of joy and you can see them working through their thoughts and feelings, memories perhaps. you know their hearts are flooded with love. gratitude. such is peace.

people. time. love. life. all precious gifts.

i’m utterly grateful.
